New Haven Bank has applied to the Connecticut Department of Banking to establish a full service branch in West Haven, according to the department.
The new branch would be at 636 Campbell Ave., West Haven, with a proposed opening date of August 2023.
Per state regulations, any plans filed with the department are made available for public inspection and comment for a 30-day period.
New Haven Bank, formerly Start Community Bank, is located at 299 Whalley Ave. in New Haven. In 2012, the bank got certification as a Community Development Financial Institution.
Maureen Frank, the bank’s president and CEO, has indicated that the bank is focused on expanding into new geographical areas, particularly neighboring communities such as West Haven and Hamden, and has been on the lookout for suitable properties.
The property at 636 Campbell Ave. is owned by Pads Properties LLC, according to the West Haven Assessor’s office. Built in 1920, the building was previously used as a TD Bank.
